How to Play the Postcode Lottery

The Postcode Lottery is a subscription-based lottery. You can sign up online or by phoning 0808 109 8765, and play either one, two or three tickets. Each ticket costs £12 per month and gives you automatic entry into every draw. If you decide to buy two or three subscriptions instead of just one, it will double or treble any prizes you win.

About the People's Postcode Lottery

The People’s Postcode Lottery, which launched in 2005, creates big winners and helps good causes. It gives away 33 percent of the money it raises through ticket sales to charitable funds, including children’s welfare, animal protection and the environment.

Winning postcodes are announced every day for different prizes. There are daily prizes that are worth £1,000 per ticket for anyone playing in those postcodes, plus special prizes on Saturdays and Sundays. In the Saturday draws, one lucky postcode is drawn at random and each player wins a share of £1,000,000. In the Sunday draws, one postcode is drawn and every player will win the 'Street Prize' of £30,000.

Postcode Millions

Postcode Millions draws are held around once a month and create the game’s biggest winners. A postcode will be selected as the winner, for example AB1 1BA, and participating players receive a share of a prize pot that can be worth £3 million or sometimes even more. Even if you only have a partial match of the postcode sector, for example AB1 1, you receive a slice of the prize pot, with a larger portion going to those who play with the full winning postcode.

Frequently Asked Postcode Lottery Questions

What is the luckiest postcode in the UK?

Many postcodes have been picked as a winner on multiple occasions. The odds of winning are the same for all playing postcodes, so as long as someone on a particular street has a ticket, that postcode has a chance of winning.

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning are based on the number of postcodes that are entered into the draws, which can vary month by month as new players join the game or others leave it. The percentage of playing postcodes that win a prize each month is usually somewhere between 20-25%.
